What You’ll Need
360 Drone Booth
(Drone & controller, Android tablet w/ 360 Drone Booth App)
iPad
(w/ Curator App)
Network w/ Internet
(via dedicated router or hotspot)
Setting up a Curator Account
In order to use Curator, an account must be made. You can create an account here.
An Event Pro License is required to access features necessary for the 360 Drone Booth.
Once an account is created, you will have access to the Curator Dashboard through your web browser. Here you can create & modify your events, manage assets, and view analytics.
Use the Create Event button to begin the setup process. You can either choose from one of Curator’s templates, or create a blank event.
It is important to select V2 when creating your event to access the most up-to-date features.
When created, you will be brought to the Edit page for your new event. If you were redirected to the main dashboard, simply click the Edit button on your event.
There are a few steps & items within the event creation process that will vary from activation to activation (i.e. event timing, sharing options, screen design); these are to be tweaked to your liking. All edits will save automatically.
One thing that is absolutely necessary is the Custom FX Timeline. This can be accessed via the third step, Experience Screen. From here, select Custom FX from the first Experience dropdown.
Enabling this will allow you to find a new Custom FX dropdown in the fourth step, Customize Experience. Opening this dropdown will reveal your Custom FX timeline, which will serve as your editor for drone videos.
Editing in the Custom FX Timeline
The Custom FX Timeline allows you to create/edit the following:
Set video recording length and playback speed
Add and manipulate video clips on a timeline
Import your own videos and assets
Apply transitions, crops, and opacity effects
Overlay custom graphics and animations
Add transparent videos (HEVC .mp4) for AR-style effects
Insert pre-roll and post-roll video content
Layer audio tracks to match your timeline
Like with the Create Event button, the Timeline has preset templates available for you to choose from.
It is important to note that each template you create and/or edit will need to have its Recording Time match your respective 360 Drone Booth flight path’s timing:
360 Mode (2 loops): 11.3s
Flying V: 3.2s
Push In / Push Out: 4.35s
Push In & Out: 7s
Reveal: 3.22s
Sweep Left / Sweep Right: 2.63s
Your Recording & Composition sizes should also be at 1920x1080.
Once you’ve tweaked your Timeline to your liking, you can save it one of two ways:
Using the Save Template button will add your current Timeline setup as a template within your Curator account.
Using the Export button will let you copy your current Timeline setup as a code block, allowing you to easily share your template with another Curator account. The Import button accepts this code block with a copy-paste.

Connecting the 360 Drone Booth to Curator
By this step, you should have the following:
The 360 Drone Booth is set up and ready to fly.
A Curator event using the Custom FX Timeline is active & ready to receive video.
A stable Internet connection, with both the Android tablet and iPad connected to the same network.
In order for the 360 Drone Booth to properly communicate with Curator, the iPad hosting the Curator app must have their Wi-Fi’s
Private Wi-Fi Address disabled.
Settings > Wi-Fi > [name of network] > Private Wi-Fi Address > Off.
Open the Curator app and login to your Curator account. Once connected, you should see your currently active event on your iPad dashboard. At the bottom of the dashboard, click the Live Connect button.
Within this menu, navigate to the Devices tab. This is where 360 Drone Booth and Curator will connect with each other.
Within the 360 Drone Booth App on the Android tablet, press the Settings gear and take note of the Address for PC/Sharing.
Type the Address for PC/Sharing into the Custom server address field on Curator’s Devices tab. Flipping the toggle to the right of the field will refresh the list below. Once a device named “custom” is seen, your Android tablet & iPad have successfully communicated with each other!
Launching the Curator Sharing Station
Returning to the Curator app’s dashboard, locate your event. There should be a red Cloud Download button on the event; clicking this will download the project to your local device, revealing a new Play button to the left of the event name.
Upon clicking the Play button, you will be prompted to select a mode. Select Sharing Station to access your event’s attract page. Your 360 Drone Booth with Curator sharing station should now be ready to go!
Accessing 360 Drone Booth Videos through Curator
Once your event is active, you can begin receiving recordings from your 360 Drone Booth. Your attract page will display until a guest interacts with the iPad.
Once the screen is pressed, the Gallery will open, allowing you to view all previously recorded & edited footage.
Within the Gallery, anybody can tap a video to view it. This is also where guests would use the sharing icons set up within the Curator Web Dashboard.
It is important to note that all recorded & edited footage is locally stored on the iPad itself. Footage is only accessible via the web dashboard if it has been previously shared out by a guest.
To download all footage taken during your event, access the Queue from the iPad dashboard, and press Save to Photos to export all footage locally.
