Frequently Asked Questions

  • The DJI Mini 3 Pro (DJI RC-N1)

Compared to previous DJI Mini models, the Mini 3 Pro is superior in every way: reliability, stability, safety, tracking, smooth motion, speed, low light flying, speed of offloading of videos to the tablet, higher frame rate (up to 120fps), and support for horizontal and vertical videos.

Legacy support, via our Legacy 360 Drone Booth App, is available for the DJI Mini SE and DJI Mini 2, however this support will be phased out in the future.

  • The intensive Ai processing requires a high-end Android device.

Here are the devices (tablets) we have tested and recommend:
Samsung Galaxy Tablet S7, S8, or S9 series
Lenovo Yoga Tab 11 or 13 series
Xiaomi Pad 6 WiFi Version 11

Your tablet needs to have a minimum of 6GB or RAM (memory) and at least 64GB of storage.

We are in the process of testing more devices and will have more recommendations over time.

  • At this time, DJI has only released an SDK for Android OS (for their Mini drone product line). If they ever do release an SDK for iOS, we will be sure to develop an iOS version. However the real reasoning behind this is that Apple is restricting the use of it’s usb port, and although they have allowed DJI to use it in their app, they do not want third party developers to have broad access in this way.

  • No. Because the intended use of the 360 Drone Booth software is indoors, and the FAA does not have jurisdiction indoors, none of the FAA rules apply.

Here a third party article that describes this in more detail: https://www.thedroneu.com/adu-0706-can-film-indoors-without-part-107/

The above article is from a trusted third party source (Drone U). They facilitate the FAA TRUST testing and certifications.

Furthermore, since the drone is under 250g you do not need to register your drone to fly, HOWEVER to obtain drone/UAV liability insurance policy, you will minimally need to register your drone under Recreational Registration ($5.00) here: https://faadronezone-access.faa.gov

This process typically takes less than 5 minutes.

So in summary, a Part 107 drone piloting license is not required.

There are few simple steps to obtain a drone/UAV liability insurance policy, which can be found here:

Note: If you would still like to receive your Part 107 registration (drone piloting license), more power to you!

  • It is highly recommended, but is not required to purchase and use the software in your home or office. You can easily request an exception. You can learn more on how to request an exception here.

If and when you decide to purchase UAV/Drone insurance, there are 3 easy places to purchase a policy:

    RVNA

    REIN (DroneInsurance.com)

    SkyWatch

It is recommended that you have a minimum liability limit of $1,000,000 and minimum of $5,000 in medical expense payments. Answers for the questions asked during the online ordering process can be found here: https://360dronebooth.com/typical-answers

Additional Insured and Holder for COI:

    360 Motion Labs LLC
    18 Wilson Way
    Phoenixville, PA 19460

  • That is up to you. The Drone Mini SE and Drone Mini 2 are somewhat inexpensive, so it may be more cost effective to simply have another 2 or 3 drones as backup.

  • A DJI propeller guard made for the DJI Mini 3 Pro is required. You can purchase the propeller guard from the DJI website or at a reseller like Amazon. Not using a DJI propeller guard is a violation of the Term of Use agreement.

  • Yes, you, as the operator, are responsible for ensuring an environment for safe flying for the guidelines and settings that you have configured in the 360 Drone Booth app. As an operator, you must be ready to press the emergency landing button in the app. Although the drone is programmed for autonomous takeoff, landing, and orbiting, you are still ultimately in control of the drone and at any point can trigger the emergency landing or take control using the DJI controller.

  • The drone should be positioned directly on the center of the H for each take off, pointing at the subject (or subjects).

You can download the helipad here.

  • The software is not intended for outdoor use. It has not been tested for outdoor use. An enclosed tent is a viable option as well, the tent should be least 8.5 feet high. Anytime you fly a drone commercially outdoors (ie. not indoors or within an enclosed tent) you will need your FAA Part 107 registration and certification.

  • A minimum of 18 LUX is required for the DJI drone optics to function properly. 18 LUX is a relatively low light, and thus works in nearly all environments. A simple LUX meter can check the environmental lighting conditions. If light is too low, setting up external lighting is recommended. Keep in mind that 18 LUX is quite low in terms of lighting, so it woudl quite rare external lighting is needed.

  • Number of flights will vary, however on average, you will get 45 to 50 flights (assuming two circles per session) on one full battery (extended life battery). It is recommended to have at least 3 additional batteries on hand. Once one is depleted, you can charge it while cycling the charged batteries into use.

  • Once 10% battery is reached, the 360 Drone Booth app will require you to change the battery.

  • The optimal height is about 30 to 32 inches.

  • Yes, the drone will take off and be at a height of 3.5 to 4 feet high from the surface that it takes off from. Once you have the table height, please be sure to update it in the 360 Drone Booth app so the gimbal is adjusted automatically. You can still fine tune the gimbal at any time on the main screen. In future releases will will make the height more adjustable within the app.

  • For 360 mode:
    1 loop = 5.3s

    2 loops = 11.3s

    3 loops = 17.3s

    For Glam Flight Mode:
    Push In = 4.5 seconds

    Push Out = 4.5 seconds

Push In & Push Out combined = 7.25 seconds
