FX and Sharing Station Guide

A guide to understanding media flow and how to seamlessly integrate sharing stations with your 360 Drone Booth.

Media Flow Diagram

Media flows process videos automatically once configured and running.

Note: 360 Motion Labs is actively expanding flexibility and compatibility with sharing applications.

Connecting to a Sharing Station

In the 360 Drone Booth app (Android), click the gear icon in the lower right-hand corner to locate the Address for PC/Sharing App.

You will need this to address for 360 Drone Booth PC Transfer App (see next section) or Curator.

360 Drone Booth PC App Setup

Required for dslrBooth, Dzentech, Snappic, PicPic Social, Selfie 360, and other PC app platforms.

  1. The 360 Drone Booth PC App is required for remotely transferring captured drone footage to your PC for use with third-party FX and sharing station platforms (not needed for Curator).

  2. Enter your tablet’s IP address (located in the 360 Drone Booth Settings) into the Drone IP Address field in the upper-right.

  3. Toggle the Pulling switch on the upper-left to enable video pulling, and your videos should now automatically begin to transfer over!

  4. To re-download any drone videos, use the blue Redownload button to reattempt a specific file’s download.

Note: in the settings menu, you can switch from 1920x1080 to 1280x720 output. The raw drone footage always enters as 1920x1080 at the frame rate you you selected in the app (30, 60, or 120fs).

dslrBooth Sharing Station (recommended)

1 Windows PC/device needed in addition to Android tablet.

  1. Download and install the dslrBooth for Windows via the official download page. Once installed, log in using your dslrBooth account, select/create your event.

Use the Launch event button to enter.

  2. Use the arrow to the right to open the Settings menu and access the General tab.

  3. Locate the Data Directory; this needs to correspond with the directory configured on your 360 Drone Booth PC App.

    (ie. C:\Users\{user name}\Videos\360_videos)

You can change your Real Time Export directory here as well; this is where videos will land once processed.

  4. Navigate to the Capture Settings tab; make sure to toggle off everything but Video.

Set the Size to 1920x1080 or 1280x720 (depending on what you have it set to in the PC Transfer App) and the Type to 360/Slow Motion.

If the drone is capturing portrait video, be sure to select the Video Orientation to 90 degrees.

You can also customize the timeline for your post-processed video output. Please refer to dslrBooth’s documentation for additional information on how to fully set up FX, soundtracks, overlays, and sharing screens to your liking.

  5. Once your settings are ready to go, click the Launch Event button once more to activate your event and your watch directory!

Tip: When your PC’s webcam light goes off, your video has been received by dslrBooth and has begun processing.

Selfie360 Sharing Station

1 Windows PC/device needed in addition to Android tablet.

  1. Verify your license key and download the desktop application through the Selfie360 software webpage.

Once installed and verified, you will begin at the Quick Settings screen.

  2. Switch to the Advanced Menu, located right next to the Quick Settings.

From there, navigate to the Folders tab.

  3. Use the Select buttons for “Input files:” and “Output files:” to confirm your watch folder and output folder directories.

  4. Ensure that Automatic mode (beta) is checked to allow Selfie360 to ingest and process incoming drone videos live.

Selfie360 is now ready to receive 360 Drone Booth footage!

Curator Sharing Station

1 iPad needed in addition to Android tablet.

NOTE: In order for the 360 Drone Booth app to communicate with Curator, the iPad hosting the Curator app must have their Wi-Fi’s Private Wi-Fi Address disabled.

This can be toggled via Settings > Wi-Fi > [name of network] > Private Wi-Fi Address.

  1. Navigate to the Settings icon in the bottom-left corner of the screen.

    From there, select Live Connect.

  2. Click on Devices in the top right.

Make sure the switch is off (gray), and input the drone address.

Once the address is filled in, turn the switch on (green), and now your 360 Drone Booth App is connected to Curator!

You will know that the two are connected if a device titled “custom” appears.

DZENTECH Spinner 360 Video Editor

1 Windows PC/device needed in addition to Android tablet.

NOTE: DZENTECH is a very powerful, and highly customizable automatic video editor. It’s great for automatically editing your 360 Drone Booth videos!

It is not, however, a sharing station. Because of this, it would need to be used in conjunction with another sharing program (PicPic Social, Curator, Snappic, etc.).

  1. Set resolution to 1080p or 720p (depending on what you have selected PC transfer App). Select an aspect ratio to 16:9.

Red means an option is selected; blue means it is not.

  2. Click Render on the right side.

Make sure to check Copy Output Video to
    select folder
, and select a folder you would like the renders to output to.

Since this will be ingested by a sharing
platform like PicPic Social, we recommend coordinating the output folder of Dzentech to the Watch/Hot folder of your sharing platform of choice.

  3. Select Customization.

If you would like your videos to sync
with music, select an audio file under Open Audio… and make sure the switch below is set to Cut Vfx to the Music.

If you would like to time each effect manually separate from your audio track, make sure the switch is set to Manual Vfx Cuts.

Feel free to experiment with all the various
effects and timings you can adjust to create the perfect 360 Drone Booth video edits!

PicPic Social Sharing Station

1 Windows PC/device needed in addition to Android tablet.

  1. Set up an event through PicPic Social’s webpage.

  2. Download the newest version of PicPic Social’s Device Server app.

Install the Device Server and login using your account credentials.

  3. Select your event from the drop down
    menu.

Press Add to select a watch folder.

This is the folder that will take your drone videos and upload them to PicPic Social for sharing.

  4. Select Folder, then press Next.

  5. Press Select Folder and navigate over to the folder you wish to select.

Once the folder is selected, hit OK.

Finally, press Start to launch your
    PicPic Social Server!

Your 360 Drone Booth videos will now be available to share on your PicPic Social Sharing Station.

Snappic Sharing Station

1 Windows PC/device needed in addition to Android tablet.

  1. Set up a 360 video event through Snappic’s dashboard.

  2. Download the Snappic Photo Booth
    Uploader
    .

Once installed, open the uploader and login to your Snappic account.

  3. Select your event from the Live Events
    menu.

  4. Click Add New Folder to select a watch folder.

  5. Press Click to browse on your device.

Navigate to the folder you would like to receive videos from and select it.

    Once finished, press Done.

NOTE: Make sure the folder type is set to Video. If “Video” is greyed out, you will need to change your event settings through the dashboard to enable it.

  6. Press Start to have Snappic begin the event, ready to pull 360 Drone Booth videos into the platform!
