What You’ll Need

360 Drone Booth

(Drone & controller, Android tablet w/ 360 Drone Booth App)

Touchscreen Windows Device

(Laptop or Surface tablet w/ dslrBooth & 360 Drone Booth PC Transfer App)

Network

(Dedicated router to create a local network)

Wi-Fi Adapter

(Wifi USB adapter for Windows device for internet connectivity to allow sharing)

Setting up a dslrBooth Account

In order to use dslrBooth, a fotoshare Cloud account must be made. You can create an account here.

Once your account is created, you can download the Windows version of dslrBooth through their website.

  • A license/subscription will need to be purchased to use the full functionality of dslrBooth.

Open the .exe file to install dslrBooth to your Windows device. Once installed, you can use your account info to log in.

Creating a dslrBooth Event

Once logged in, dslrBooth will open to the Your events page, where you can:

  • Create new events

  • Duplicate an event

  • Delete an event

  • Rename an event

Click + New Event to begin creating your event.

Name your event and click the Launch Event button. This will start your newly created event.

Any launched event will display its splash screen first; this is where the event will await incoming footage.

To exit the splash screen, toggle the blue dropdown in the top-right corner of dslrBooth.

This dropdown opens up the Settings panel, which allows you to configure your event to your liking. You can easily change & create events here by clicking on the blue arrow next to your event name.

To begin configuring your event, click on the General button under Setup.

Configuring your dslrBooth Event

Within the General settings, locate the Directories section at the bottom-left.

  • The Data Directory is where raw drone footage will be ingested by dslrBooth to be edited & shared.

  • The Real-time Export directory is where post-processed videos will automatically export to.

Both directories can be set to:

  • C:\Users\{Username/admin}\Videos\360_videos

Use the top-right text to navigate to the Capture Settings.

The Capture Settings timeline will allow you to:

  • Edit video duration

  • Tweak slo-mo / speed-up effects

  • Add image & video overlays

  • Include pre-roll or post-roll video

  • Customize music/audio

Toggle off the Photo, GIF, and Boomerang features. Only Video should be enabled.

Set the Size to 1920x1080 or 1280x720, depending on your preference.

Make sure 360/Slow motion is enabled.

If you are capturing portrait videos, change your Video Orientation to 90 degrees.

Each event you create and/or edit will need to have its Recording Duration match your respective 360 Drone Booth flight path’s timing:

  • 360 Mode (2 loops): 11.3s

  • Flying V: 3.2s

  • Push In / Push Out: 4.35s

  • Push In & Out: 7s

  • Reveal: 3.22s

  • Sweep Left / Sweep Right: 2.63s

Using the top-right text once again will bring you to the Camera Settings. Since the event will be using the drone camera, the Enable webcam toggle can be disabled.

Now that the event has been configured, it can be customized! Use the top-right dropdown to re-open the Settings panel, and click on Screen Editor, just below the event name.

Customizing your dslrBooth Event Screens

dslrBooth’s Screen Editor provides plenty of customization for your event screens, including:

  • Custom text & images

  • Preset shapes

• Sharing options (email, SMS, QR code)

As 360 Drone Booth activations will not capture footage from the Windows device, only the Welcome Screen & Sharing Screen will need to be customized.

The right side of the Screen Editor contains the Design tab and Settings tab. The items within this tab will adjust based on the object/layer currently selected.

The Design tab can:

  • Adjust sizing / offsets

  • Edit theme colors

  • Tweak alignment

  • Edit layer order

The Settings tab can:

  • Allow gallery viewing

• Toggle sharing options

  • Edit screen timeout

NOTE: There may be instances where two scroll bars will appear. The inner bar controls layers, while the outer bar controls the entire tab.

Once your event screens have been customized to your liking, return to the top-right dropdown and select Launch Event to make your event active.

Using the 360 Drone Booth PC Transfer App

By this point, you should have the following:

  • The 360 Drone Booth is set up and ready to fly.

  • A dslrBooth event has been fully configured, customized, & launched.

  • A stable Internet connection, with both the Android tablet and Windows device connected to the same network.

On your Windows device, open the 360 Drone Booth PC Transfer App and click the top-left gear to view the app’s Settings.

  • Uncheck Prep file for Dzentech.

  • Select your resolution.

  • Press Save.

NOTE: The drone’s video resolution will always be 1920x1080, with the framerate chosen in the Android app (30, 60, 120).

Locate the Drone IP Address field at the top-right of the application, and click the pencil icon to edit it.

On your Android tablet, navigate to the Settings within the 360 Drone Booth app and locate the Address for PC/Sharing.

Copy this IP address over to the Drone IP Address field on the Windows device; click the checkmark icon to save it.

Once the Drone IP Address is set, the app is ready to begin pulling videos. The pulling toggle is located to the right of the Settings gear.

Enabling pulling will change the toggle from red to green, indicating videos are ready to be received.

Videos received from the 360 Drone Booth PC Transfer app automatically export to the following path:

  • C:\Users\{Username/admin}\Videos\360_videos
